I had a great time going on a complete and well organized tour from Primate safaris George my tour guide for the 3 day Uganda Murchison Falls safari guided me through the whole experience and he did it really well. He picked me up at my hotel on time and after a briefing we went on our way. I got to see the most amazing highlights of the national park. The boat ride and the top of the falls were amazing too. Also the car he drove me in was very convenient. George did a great job as my tour guide and Sarah also did a great job by helping me out with booking this tour. It is very much recommended!

Travelling to Murchison falls National Park makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world, we usher you into different activities like game drives to spot at a number of beautiful wildlife species like the Lions, Antelopes like the Jackson’s heart beasts, water bucks, warthogs, elephants, giraffes, among others, then hiking to the top of the falls and finally a great, memorable and unforgettable 3 hours boat ride experience on the Nile River to critically observe and hear the sounds of the falling waters of the Murchison falls.

This is a long review! Scroll to bottom to skip the details.

My boyfriend and I had a fun safari tour with our guide Andrew! We were picked up on time at our hotel in Kampala and drove 6 hrs to the falls.

Before reaching the Falls, we went to a rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. We saw 7 rhinos total and it was amazing to see them in nature and not at a zoo. After seeing the rhinos, we had lunch (included) then headed to the Falls. **Keep in mind: meals and water bottles are included in the price of the tour, however if you order bottled water or drinks at any of the restaurants during the tour, you will pay out of pocket! Bottled water is purchased ahead of time by your guide for the entire tour and is stored in a cooler. The water given to you inside the vehicle is the one that is included with the tour. Make sure to ask you guide questions!***

Most of the road from Kampala to Murchison was paved. As you draw closer to the Falls, the road intermittently changes between paved and unpaved. Expect to have a lot of bumpy, uneven roads, and a lot of dust! We stayed at Twiga Safari Lodge. The lobby was nice and our room was a sturdy high quality tent. The material of the tent was thick and strong. The mosquito net was needed and large enough to cover the entire bed. The downside of the lodge is the lack of A/C and limited fans available for use. It was pretty hot inside the tent and took a while for cooler air to flow through during the evening. Unfortunately, we did not sleep well during our stay. We were in close proximity to hippos and frogs. They do NOT have wifi or power outlets inside the tent. They are available for use in the lobby only. Rwenzori water during meals is complementary. For those looking for isolation from crowds, this lodge is for you.

The next day, we went for a game drive in the morning. The SUV has a roof that can be elevated higher. This allows people to stand and view the animals without a glass enclosure as well as allow cool air to flow throughout the drive. Then, we went on a ferry boat tour on the Nile River after noon. Arifat stayed on land and waited for us to get back (about 3.5 hrs). We saw the receiving end of the Falls and the boat was positioned at a good angle by the captain for amazing photos! We saw hippos, a crocodile, pumbas and multiple birds. On our way back from the ferry boat tour, one of the staff members forgot to inform us of a different drop off location that we were supposed to meet Andrew. When we didn’t see our SUV or Arifat, I immediately messaged someone from the primate safaris regarding the situation because I didn’t get Andrew number ahead of time. He was two steps ahead and realized we were nowhere to be found! He immediately called someone from the ferry boat and made sure we were safe. We found a way to get back to our landcruiser and reunited with Andrew. We were relieved to know he was worried about our safety and attempted to look for us! Awesome customer service!

The next day, Andrew drove us back to Kampala and we concluded our safari tour.

I had so many questions before booking the tour, and Sarah was very patient with me. She answered all of my questions and provided awesome custo.mer service. Although it says that they accept PayPal on their website, it actually PesaPal. It is a different company and using PayPal is not an option.

If you are looking to book a safari adventure while in Uganda, check this company out! I recommend them!

My friends and I visited this national park last year for 3 days and it was a good experience at Para safari lodge, we had 2 game drives evening and morning the morning one was interesting since it is where were able to see many animals especially the big cats like lions, leopard and hyenas. Evening boat cruise along the river Nile to the bottom of the falls was also refreshing, we were able to see many animals in and along the river bank such as hippos, crocodiles and so many birds then on the way back to Kampala we visited top of the falls where you get close to the falls which was so refreshing, on the boat ride to bottom of the falls you view the falls at a distance due to big rocks that are in the river. All in all you need to visit this park found in Northern part of Uganda East Africa and its about 5 and a half hours drive from Kampala capital city.

As 3 friends we did the safari with Alex. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the park and helped us see some amazing scenery and animals. The food, safari car and lodges were great. Alex is a truly great guy – funny and so nice. You should definitely go on this safari!

  6. Sandy Paisio

Alex was punctual and an amazing, knowledgeable and safe driver for our 3 days 2 nights Murchison Falls Safari with Rhinos tour. We were a family group of 3 adults and one 5 year old child. He stopped when we wanted and perfect amount of time for lunches etc. He was always prepared. He knew the weather and made itinerary adjustments accordingly because we did the Rhino tour first and we were lucky enough to witness the birth of baby rhino. We saw many species of African animals. Loved our accommodation at Murchison River Lodge and added bonus of witnessing hippos grazing past our verandah too. Meals at the lodge were excellent. The falls were magnificent. Excellent communication by emails to Andrew who answered promptly and efficiently all our questions prior to the Safari. Highly recommend Primate safaris extremely professional. 100% go back again. Thanks for a memorable Safari. Sandy On behalf of Paisio and family.

We only had 3days in Uganda and wanted to see and experience as much as we could. We emailed primate safaris with lots of questions and Andrew very quickly replied with a lot of helpful information and so we, confidently, booked a 3 days Murchison Falls with Rhino tour.
This tour has been one of the most amazing adventures that we have ever done in our many years of travelling the globe.
We don’t think that we could have had a better guide than Andrew. He was not just our driver and guide but he quickly became our friend. Andrew is not only a great driver; He is knowledgeable, patient, considerate, has a great sense of humour, and was always willing to go the extra mile (both figuratively and literally!).
We were blown away by how close we managed to get to some of these magestic animals in their natural habitat – an experience that we will never forget.

    Thanks especially to Andrew

This tour is by far the best one we have ever been on. Right from start to finish all communication was great.

When I first emailed them I got a quick answer from Andrew who was very nice and happy to plan the trip for us accordingly to our wishes. he was very calm and heard us out, giving us the different options which would suit us the best. Andrew had so much patience as we weren’t sure of how many days or how many people would be joining us, and we did change our minds a few times regarding days and amount of people, but he had no problems with that and was happy to give us the updated prices and itinerary. Upon meeting Andrew in person once we arrived, he took us through the itinerary day by day which was very good. Andrew is such a lovely person and I thank him for creating us the perfect tour.

We want to say a big thank you to our driver Alex who was very professional and knew so much about the National Park and its animals. He was a very funny guy who did everything in order for us to see as many animals as possible during our safari tour. He was very open to adjusting the schedule, accordingly to what we wanted to do which we appreciate very much.

We can not recommend this company enough. They were so organised from start to finish and we had such a blast during the trip. We will be using them for other future tours.

Thanks to the team at primate safaris

This amazing trip started with the help of Andrew the Reservation Manager. he was kind patient and very helpful in getting us the best itinerary to fit our needs. We had other activities planned in Uganda and our time was limited.so we chose the 3 Day Murchison Safari with Rhino tracking.
The adventure begins!! We were picked up at our hotel by or guide Alex., who turned out to be an awesome host and guide. It was a 3-4 hour drive to the park and we barely felt the time. Alex was friendly, engaging and very accommodating. We really enjoyed getting to know him.
The park itself was incredible. I have never been on a safari, but we have taken many family trips together., This trip tops them all. I have never seen so many wild animals in one place, in their natural habitat. The cameras were always on standby and we took so many pics. I highly recommend bringing a camera with a zoom lens. There will be so many opportunities for close up pics. Alex trained eyes were always on the lookout for animals we hadn’t see and getting us great angles. You should develop a good working relationship with your guide. They are trained professionals who are proud to show off their countries natural habitat and wildlife. They will also ensure you have the best experience possible and keep you safe.
The 3 day safari we chose is also called The Big Five: elephants, buffalo, lions, rhino and leopards. We saw all except the leopards (they are elusive). What an amazing adventure!!
